When you’re just getting started, your library will be empty. The first step is uploading a template.

Note: LLeMental currently supports .pptx (PowerPoint) files for templates at this time. Word document support is coming soon.

Step 1: Upload Your Template

The best templates for LLeMental are PowerPoint files you create repeatedly with the same structure but different content each time.

Great template examples:

  • Client proposals and pitch decks
  • Marketing strategy presentations
  • Sales reports and business reviews
  • Project status updates
  • Investment memos and financial reports

To upload your template:

  1. From Your Library, click Upload Template
  2. Select your .pptx file
  3. Your file will be processed and appear in the library

Once uploaded, click the template to open the configuration interface.

Step 2: Configure Your Template

This is where LLeMental becomes powerful. Template configuration is how you tell the AI exactly what to generate and where. Every dynamic area in your final presentation is defined here.

Important: Configuration is a required step before generating. This is what allows LLeMental to know which parts of your template should be populated with AI content and which should stay exactly as-is.

The good news: you only configure each template once. After that, it’s saved to your library and ready to generate from instantly — no setup required for future uses.

The configuration interface shows your slides in a panel on the left, with the current slide displayed in the center. Use the Prev and Next buttons at the top, or click the thumbnails in the left sidebar to move between slides.

Adding Prompts

A “prompt” is an instruction you write to tell the AI what content to generate for a specific section of your template. Each prompt is associated with one or more shapes on your slides.

The toolbar at the top gives you three options for working with prompts:

  • Shape Prompts — View and manage all prompts you’ve already added
  • New Prompt — Create a new prompt and assign shapes to it
  • Top-level Instructions — Add general instructions that apply across the entire presentation

To add a prompt:

  1. Click New Prompt in the toolbar
  2. A prompts panel will open on the right side of the screen
  3. Give your prompt a name (e.g., “Problem Statement”)
  4. Write your prompt instructions — describe what you want the AI to generate for this section
  5. Click on shapes in the slide to assign them to this prompt. Selected shapes will be highlighted with an outline. You’ll see each assigned shape listed in the panel with its shape name and slide number
  6. Click Save when done

A few things worth knowing about prompts:

  • You can assign multiple shapes to a single prompt — useful when several text areas on a slide should be generated together with the same context
  • You can assign shapes from different slides to the same prompt
  • Your instructions can be as specific or as general as you need. Later on you will provide background information (project notes, research, etc.) for the AI to use to generate the content.
  • LLeMental recognizes formatting styles like bullet points and numbered lists, so you don’t need to specify those in your prompts
  • Try different prompts to tailor your results. Ex. “Make this statement data-focused” vs “Make this statement narrative focused”.

Repeat this process for each section of your template that should be dynamically generated. Any shape you don’t assign to a prompt will remain completely static — the AI will not touch it.

Tip: Use Outline AI Shapes in the Settings section of the toolbar to visually see all text shapes on the current slide, which makes it easier to identify what’s available to configure.

Once you’ve added prompts for all the sections you want automated, your template is ready. Click Generate in the top right corner to proceed, or navigate back to Your Library to generate later.

Step 3: Generate Your Presentation

When you’re ready to generate, you can either:

  • Click Generate from the configuration screen
  • Return to Your Library, select your configured template, and open the generation screen from there

The generation screen looks similar to the configuration screen, but here you’re providing the content context — the raw information the AI will use to populate your template.

To generate a presentation:

  1. Click Add Context in the top panel, which opens the Context panel on the right. Type background information about this specific project or client or
  2. Upload any supporting files that contain relevant information. Click Choose File to add them. Files you upload here will persist for future generations from this template
  3. Click Generate All Prompts to generate content for all the prompts you configured during the template configuration step earlier.

What files can you upload?

  • Meeting notes or call summaries
  • PDF reports and proposals
  • Word documents with project specifications
  • Excel files with data and metrics
  • Previous presentations for reference
  • Research papers or case studies

LLeMental analyzes all uploaded content and uses it — along with your prompt instructions — to populate each configured section of your template. Generation typically takes under 60 seconds.

Step 4: Review and Refine with AI Chat

After generation is complete, you’ll see your populated presentation in the editing interface. Review each slide to check the AI-generated content.

If you want to adjust specific sections without regenerating the entire deck, use the AI Chat feature. Click the AI Chat button in the toolbar to open a chat panel where you can ask the AI to revise or refine content in specific areas of your presentation.

When you’re satisfied with the output, click the LLeMental logo in the top left to return to your library, then download your completed .pptx file. The file is fully editable in PowerPoint and maintains all your original formatting, fonts, colors, and design elements.
